SPECIALIZED SERVICES
Characterization Studies
There are several phases needed in the planning and execution of characterization studies
a. Phase I
Proceeds with the planning and implementation of several Phase I Évaluations environnementales de site (ÉES) on residential, commercial and industrial properties. This is completed under two current regulations : the Politique de protection des sols et de réhabilitation des terrains contaminés and Loi 72
b. Phase II
Phase II works need a certain experience level to be completed. The costs of this phase vary depending on a number of factors.
- Proceed to the analysis of available information with an evaluation of the property’s constraints.
- Designs characterization plans taking into account the applicable regulations of the study site
c. Phase III
This phase is important to determine more precisely the volume of contaminated soil/water to manage.
- Complementary studies allowing a more accurate depiction of the nature and specification of contaminants
Rehabilitation/Decontamination
The last step in this process is to remove the environmental liability by extracting or treating contaminants. This entails the following:
a. Rehabilitation Plan
- Design the rehabilitation plan under the applicable regulation (Policy or Law 72)
- Assistance for the plan approval with the ministère de l’Environnement (MDDELCC)
b. Rehabilitation Plan Implementation
- Guide the process at each step
- Rehabilitation attainment objective
- Follow-up and file closure
Representation in Superior Court and Small Claims Court
When negotiation in good faith fails and your rights are being infringed, finding a legal adviser is important.
